1) calculate the thermal effect of the reaction from the known values of the standard heats of formation of the starting materials and reaction products;
2) determine ΔH from the assumption:
a) Δс=0;
b) Δс=const;
c) Δс=f(T).
3) determine ∆S298 and ∆St for the reaction;
4) calculate the value of ΔG298 and ΔGt and draw a conclusion about the direction of the reaction under standard conditions and at temperature T
