Against the Storm is a roguelite city builder, meaning that every time you set out on another foray into the wilds, all your resources, upgrades, and experience from previous expeditions will be carried over.

TAKE PLAY WITH THE VARIETY OF YOUR PEOPLE
Foxes, beavers, lizards, humans, and harpies help each other survive in this dangerous world. Use the strengths of each race to balance different needs: from housing and cooking preferences to relaxation and luxury. Sew raincoats, brew ale, bake pies – try to raise the morale of the population in the face of the oppressive hostility of the forest. Or prioritize the needs of one species over all others, and act in the name of the Scorched Queen.

A CITY-BUILDER WITH A ROGUELIKE FEEL
Play a classic city-builder that you´ll want to return to again and again, thanks to the roguelike gameplay features that are typical for a simplified roguelike. Build and manage multiple settlements scattered across a huge world map. Collect valuable resources to improve the Smoldering City, whose development progress never resets. Take on the responsibility of a monarch - the Scorched Queen demands constant progress, but regular Blightstorms pose an imminent threat to your settlements.

Increase your reputation to achieve success in one settlement, then move on to creating another. Constantly seek new opportunities to grow, solving unique problems in numerous biomes and preparing for the inevitable destruction of everything around you except the Smoldering City itself. Can you make the most of each cycle to ensure the prosperity of the Smoldering City and your career as a governor?

EVERY GAME IS DIFFERENT
With hundreds of gameplay modifiers and six unique biomes, each new city will present you with new challenges that even the most resourceful governor can’t always handle. Adapt your strategy to changing weather conditions and experiment with building designs and features that will help you lead your society to prosperity or ruin. Will you dare to take on additional tasks? Venture into the depths of a dangerous forest in search of possible valuables, or play it safe and stay within your capabilities.

You never know what goods a merchant will bring next year, and the forest holds not only treasures and resources, but also dangers from ancient times.
