For hundreds of years, the Order of the Sword defended the coastal city of Fortuna from the invading forces of Darkness, eradicating the creatures of the Underworld with fire and sword. For hundreds of years, the Order´s warriors worshiped Sparda, a powerful demon who once fought alongside humanity. For hundreds of years, Fortuna´s well-being seemed secure until Dante, the son of the legendary Sparda, appeared in the city. Ferocious and invincible, he stormed his father´s temple, mercilessly slaughtering the Knights of the Sword who were unsuspecting. Only one of them, young Nero, managed to confront Dante with his supernatural powers and send him fleeing.
But the tragedy at the temple was only the beginning. Gates to another world began to open everywhere, and hordes of bloodthirsty monsters poured into the city, threatening to destroy Fortuna. Many believe Dante is to blame. However, others are certain that Evil has long since infiltrated the city, destroying it from within. And only the courageous Nero can uncover the truth.
