This book was born out of practical necessity.
Preparing a final qualifying work (FQW) for engineering students
is almost always fraught with the same problems: unclear requirements, a lack of clear examples, and the feeling that "nobody really explained how to do it."
Formally, a FQW is considered a scientific paper. In practice, for an engineer, it is closer to an
engineering project, which requires:
• a clear statement of the problem;
• a clear structure;
• sequential completion of stages;
• a clear result.
Unfortunately, insufficient attention is paid to this during training. Students
are often encouraged to "figure it out on their own," relying on manuals that are either
overloaded with formalities or fail to explain the overall logic of the work.
The purpose of this book is to fill precisely this gap.
Who is this book for?
This guide is intended for:
• undergraduate and specialist engineering students;
• students preparing their final qualifying work in telecommunications, radio engineering,
electronics, IT, and related disciplines;
• those who want to understand the process of preparing a final qualifying work, not just "get it done."
This book is especially useful for those who:
• don´t know where to start;
• are afraid of doing things "wrong" and having to redo chapters;
• want to develop a clear and consistent study plan in advance.
Who is this book not intended for?
It´s important to clarify this from the outset.
This book:
• is not a completed final qualifying work;
• does not contain other people´s or templated work;
• does not guarantee automatic defense;
• does not replace a supervisor.
The purpose of this guide is not to do the work for you, but to help you:
5
• correctly define the task;
• build a structure;
• avoid common mistakes;
• save time and nerves.
