Harlan Grant and Giggles were the inseparable stars of the Deadly Circus. With the appearance of the Heliostone, the hyena succumbed to the Corruption, and Grant was forced to kill his faithful companion. Now he stands alone against the servants of the cursed artifact, leaving Giggles forever not by his side, but in his heart.

Once upon a time, the Host bought a lion cub from a bankrupt circus and then taught the little beast to jump through a fiery hoop. With the arrival of the Filth, the lion went berserk and plunged into the fire himself. Hyena had to shoot him with this rifle to save the crowd.

Come on in! And keep this coveted revolver close at hand. It once belonged to the notorious villain Hyena, who recklessly staged flamboyant shows of murder! Fill your enemy with lead and don´t laugh too hard over the cooling corpse.

Sometimes an animal´s gaze can pierce the heartlessness of even the most thrice-cruel people. Harlan Grant caught a hyena with a barbed wire bomb like this, but the sight of it made the hunter relent and accept a pet instead.
A big-game hunter, Harlan Grant has traveled the world, tracking and killing a wide variety of, yet always dangerous, prey. He is feared and respected in equal measure. Much of this fear stems from his companion, Laughing, a loyal, snarling spotted hyena whom Grant fusses over like the apple of his eye. The pair are inseparable. One day, a handler told Grant that he had killed all the game worth hunting in the area. So the hunter put his gun away—for now—and joined the Slaughter Circus. He and Laughing became the stars of the ring, shining brightly until the Master of Ceremonies brought in the ill-fated Heliostone. Soon, its miasma permeated every nook and cranny, defiling everything in its path. Grant proved to be a tough guy and didn´t succumb to the stone´s influence, but Laughing... The hunter watched in horror as his companion slowly transformed into a monster so terrifying that it would have been more merciful to shoot her.
So he took up arms again. With tears in his eyes, Grant pulled the trigger and then walked away.
From then on, he rejected all offers to return to the Slaughter Circus and fight for Malone, blaming them for Laughing. But he didn´t swear off shooting the circus performers or trying to destroy the Heliostone.
