Albitsky, F.A., Pchelkin, V.M. "Flora and Fauna of the Region" (in Russian). In PDF format.
Moscow; Ivanovo-Voznesensk: Gosizdat, 1931. — 49 p. — (Ivanovo Industrial Region. Issue 2).
The progress of socialist construction in the Ivanovo Region, the planned development of all sectors of the region´s national economy, and the definition of its role and significance in the great project of the entire Soviet Union urgently require, first and foremost, a clear and precise understanding of the region´s economy and its economic resources.
For every participant in socialist construction, it is imperative to have systematic information on the region´s natural productive forces, its historical past, its present economy and culture, and its prospects for socialist development.
What is currently available in this area falls far short of the needs of the moment. Materials from the former provinces are extremely limited and do not provide a clear characterization of the region as a whole. The essays on individual economic sectors compiled by former provincial organizations lack a unified methodology. They were compiled in various periods, their content is largely outdated, and their conclusions do not reflect the current level of economic development in the region.

In order to provide more or less comprehensive and processed summary data characterizing the current state of the region and its historical development, the Ivanovo branch of OGIZ is beginning publication of a series of issues under the general title "Ivanovo Industrial Region."

This publication is intended to provide a broad range of active members of Soviet, party, professional, and economic bodies, and especially district workers, with a popular scientific characterization of our region and its districts.

We hope that this publication will also partially meet the needs of our school, whose proper organization is impossible without the study of local history materials. The series is edited by Comrade Rubinstein N. L. (essays on history and socio-cultural development) and Comrade Sokolov P. A. (essays on economics).
